31 Days of Weight Loss: {Day 13: Come Thirsty-part 2}

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4: 13
I can relate to the woman at the well. Battered from the world. A little rough around the edges. Walked on. Forgotten. Can you relate?
The woman at the well (Samaritan woman) had an edge or protectiveness about her as she answered Jesus’ questions. Sensing His ability to see right through her, she answered truthfully. Jesus changed her that day. She began to thirst for the living water more so than water or food of the world. And because of her testimony of Christ, many Samaritan lives were changed.
That is how much we need to want Jesus in our lives. Yes, it may be scary to let Him in to every area of our lives, including our weight loss journey. But those reasons are not good enough, no matter what they are. What will truly change our lives, get rid of the brokenness of this world, and peel back the sinful layers of ourselves is Christ. He alone is worthy of all of us, no matter how broken. No matter how overweight. No matter what reason lies beneath overeating. If we want to reach all that is pure and lovely and godly, we need Him to do it.
Maybe your story isn’t as dramatic as the woman at the well, maybe your story is more dramatic. The only thing that matters is that we all thirst for Christ. He is our living water.
Thirst for Christ.
Praying,
