Do you make vows to yourself? Have you said to yourself, “I will never get that fat again.” Does it sound a little like Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With the Wind? In my head, I have played out that scene too many times. I no longer make vows to myself. To be honest, I can’t keep them regarding my diet and exercise.
I do make vows to Jesus. I vow to honor, love and cherish Him with my life. I vow to adhere to His teachings with my life and that includes my body. I care more about Him than I do any other thing in my life. It is a lot harder to break my promises with Him than it is to myself.
Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me,” (Psalm 50:14-15).
Vow to Jesus today. Vow to treat your body like His temple. Don’t spend your energy on your own agenda. My agenda never returned anything but heartache. His agenda reaps a bountiful harvest

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful;he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it,” (1 Corinthians 10:13).
