My Journey to A Wife of Noble Character

31 Days of Weight Loss: {Day 10: Will Power}

I don’t know about you, but I hear a lot about will power. Many times along my journey someone has said to me, “you must have a whole lot of will power. I sure don’t.”

Yeah, no.  I have no will power whatsoever.

The world would have you think that you are capable of will power. There is a lot of money in helping you to curb your appetite for more, so that you can weigh less. An attitude of have it your way, pay no consequences, and be accountable to no one is available if you wish to buy into it.  Jesus says that we should not lead ourselves into temptation, but deliver ourselves from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever (Matthew 6:13). We already have the power of God to resist temptation. The kingdom, power, and glory is ours for the taking if we choose Jesus.

God offers us His will through His son. It is free. It is attainable, and a whole lot more effective than any power you could conjure on your own or from a product.

 Therefore, I urge you,brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1)

Friends, I urge you to pray and ask God to fill you with His will, not yours. Lean not on your own understanding but His. Step away from the thoughts of this world and never look back, look instead to God’s will in your life.

Always praying.
